School Tuition Organizations (STOs)

Turning Arizona Tax Credits Into Tuition Assistance

Discover How STO Scholarships Make Catholic Education Affordable

At Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School (OLPH), we believe every family who desires a Catholic education for their child should have access to one — and Arizona’s School Tuition Organizations (STOs) make that possible.

Through Arizona’s Private School Tuition Tax Credit Program, individuals and corporations can redirect their state tax dollars to help fund scholarships for OLPH students. These awards can significantly reduce tuition costs, helping families experience the value of a Catholic education without financial strain.

STO scholarships can cover 25%, 50%, or even 100% of tuition, depending on eligibility and donor participation. Our Admissions Team is here to guide you every step of the way — from choosing the right STOs to completing applications and maximizing your tuition savings.

🎥 Be sure to watch our short video: “How STOs Work” — it explains how Arizona tax credits are transformed into real tuition scholarships and shows how Catholic education can be affordable for your family at OLPH.

How STO’s Work

  1. Arizona taxpayers (individuals or businesses) can contribute to a School Tuition Organization (STO) instead of paying part of their state income tax directly to Arizona.
  2. The STO awards scholarships to families based on financial need, donor recommendations, or a combination of both.
  3. Families apply to one or more STOs each school year for tuition scholarships.
  4. OLPH receives the award directly from the STO, which is then applied to your tuition balance.

It’s a simple, powerful way to make Catholic education affordable for every family — and it costs donors nothing extra. Together, STOs and Arizona’s tax credit programs help keep Catholic education within reach for all who want it.

Applying for STO’s

Each STO has its own eligibility criteria, forms, and application deadlines, so families should review each organization’s website carefully. Missing documents or deadlines may delay processing, so we recommend starting early and staying in touch with our Admissions Office for help.

OLPH encourages families to apply to multiple STOs to increase their chances of receiving the maximum scholarship amount available. Our team will help you navigate each step — from gathering financial documents to tracking award notifications.

💡 Tip: Some STOs are need-based, others are donor-recommended, and many offer both types of scholarships.
