Turning Tax Credits into Catholic School Scholarships

Discover How CEA Scholarships Make Catholic Education Accessible for Every Family

At Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School (OLPH), we believe every child deserves access to a high-quality Catholic education — regardless of financial circumstances. Through Catholic Education Arizona (CEA), families can receive needs-based scholarships funded entirely by Arizona’s private school tax credit program. These scholarships make it possible for children to attend OLPH and thrive in a nurturing, faith-filled community.

CEA works in partnership with the Diocese of Phoenix and the Arizona Department of Revenue, allowing taxpayers to redirect their state taxes to support Catholic education — at no additional cost to them.
🎥 Be sure to watch our short video: “How CEA Works” — it explains how simple it is for families and donors to make Catholic education possible for every child.

How CEA Works

  1. Arizona taxpayers donate to Catholic Education Arizona instead of paying a portion of their state income tax directly to Arizona.
  2. CEA awards scholarships to eligible students based on verified financial need.
  3. Families apply each school year using the FACTS online application system.
  4. Scholarship awards are sent directly to OLPH, reducing your tuition balance.

It’s an easy, impactful way to help make Catholic education affordable for all families — and it costs donors nothing extra. Every dollar directed to CEA changes a child’s future.

Applying for CEA

The CEA scholarship process is simple and transparent. Families complete one application per school year through FACTS. You’ll need your financial documents during the process.

Applications typically open in February for the following school year. Awards are granted based on demonstrated financial need and available funds.

💡 Tip: Families can apply for both CEA and other School Tuition Organizations (STOs) to maximize scholarship opportunities.

CEA That Supports OLPH Families

CEA awards scholarships to families who demonstrate financial need and have students enrolled in a Catholic school within the Diocese of Phoenix.

Yes. Families may apply for CEA and other STO scholarships in the same year to increase their total tuition assistance. However, students using ESA funds cannot receive CEA or STO scholarships for the same period.
